Shooting on a Cloudy Day

Updated: May 25, 2020

The number one reason we get cancellations is because of cloudy days.

But what a lot of people don’t realise is that it’s actually the perfect day to shoot a property.

We find that you get the best results on an over cast day because there’re no harsh shadows and the lighting is consistent.

Our three reasons that you shouldn't cancel your shoot on an overcast day:

Cloudy days are great because there are no harsh shadows or unwanted glare.

We can also shoot anytime during the day without worrying about the direction of the sun, as everything is evenly lit there is little risk of the front facade being in full shade.

The colours are much more even and, days like these allow our editors to really work their magic, bringing out the most of the colours in the gardens

and removing unsightly glare from windows.

Not only that we photoshop in, vibrant, blue, skies, so you won’t even know it was a cloudy day!

So there is no need to stress if you look outside and see those dark clouds because we’ve got it covered.
