This episode is for those who don't have a bottomless bank account. As a designer, I know the cost of styling a home can add up quickly. However, if you know where to look you can score some stylish bargains to level up your home on a budget.
Let's start with a popular one... Ikea! Great for photo frames and basic décor pieces including vases, pots and little indoor plants. You can count on them for home organization with a huge range of stylish shelving and storage solutions.
Kmart is always a go-to, however, I'd steer clear of the 'Kmart staged' look by avoiding marble and furry Kmart cushions. Instead shop for smaller items such as pots, vases, candles, storage boxes and baskets. They also have the cutest toasters and kettles that look great on display in any kitchen!
Another retailer that is great for budget friendly home décor is Target. Again I'd steer clear from cheap looking furniture (especially the timber look laminate) Target also regularly collaborates with well-known interior designers like Joanna Gaines and Studio McGee, so you can always count on them to stay on-trend.
Popularly known as a clothes store, H&M surprisingly have a super aesthetic range in their homewares section, perfect for blankets and throws to add layers. You can often find great deals at H&M Home, especially if you shop during their sales! Don't forget to sing up as a H&M member for further savings.
Now, if you're after all things bedding, Adairs is the goat (Greatest of all time)! They're always on top of trending colours, patterns and materials. They can be on the pricier side, however, you can trust the quality. Sales are popular here so keep an eye out!
Top Tip: Sign up for the linen lovers for even further $$ off and free shipping
Freedom is the bougie option, ideal for rugs, sofas, dining sets, beds and lamps. You can trust the quality without the ridiculous price tag. While pushing the budget at times, Freedom often has sales where you can pick up some beautiful pieces for a great deal.
A hidden gem, The Print Emporium is an Australian based wall art brand. Best known for their huge range of on-trend prints for a great price. If you're looking for artwork to spruce up your space but don't want to break the bank, have a look here.
Buying rugs online can be nerve-wracking and we often recommend consulting with a stylist. However, Miss Amara have a virtual stylist on their website that can make the process a little more seamless. Another Aussie store that you can trust for affordability, great quality and FREE shipping around Australia which as designers, we LOVE.
This one's a trade fav for a bargain BUT I have found it can be a bit of a hit or miss depending on what you're after, however, I have had success!
